About the position

As an IT Quality & Test Engineer in the Employee Conduct team at UBS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our IT systems. Your primary responsibility will be to test all aspects of the system, including functional, component, system, performance, regression, batch, and service testing, in alignment with business and system requirements. You will set up test environments, design comprehensive test plans, develop test cases, scenarios, and usage cases, and execute these cases to ensure the highest quality of our products. In this role, you will execute both functional and non-functional test sets, utilizing both manual and automated testing methods. Collaboration with the development team will be essential as you identify and capture test cases, ensuring proper version management throughout the testing process. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining regression and automation suites using Java-cucumber, which will help streamline our testing efforts. Your attention to detail will be critical as you find and thoroughly report bugs, track fixes, and verify bug resolutions. Documentation of defects will be done in GitLab/Squash, ensuring that all issues are properly logged and addressed. Responsibilities

  • Test all aspects of the system including function, component, system, performance, regression, batch, and service in alignment with business and system requirements.
  • Set up test environments, design test plans, develop test cases, scenarios, usage cases, and execute these cases.
  • Execute functional and non-functional test sets (both manual and automated).
  • Work with the development team to identify and capture test cases, ensuring version management.
  • Develop and maintain regression and automation suites using Java-cucumber.
  • Find and thoroughly report bugs, track fixes, and verify bug fixes, documenting defects in GitLab/Squash.

Requirements

  • Proven delivery of performing functional testing to assess for accuracy, suitability, interoperability, functionality, and accessibility; and non-functional testing to assess for security, reliability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability.
  • Able to perform regression testing for project, product, and Production Readiness Verification.
  • Experience as a test engineer including a track record of test strategy, test planning, automation, and regression implementations.
  • Computer science academic background (bachelor's or master's degree) and knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including the ability to create SQL queries and a basic understanding of programming concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesizing skills.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of Selenium Test Environment and ability to configure it, customize it in various integrations, test management tools preferably Squash; ALM or QC also suffice and experience on any cloud platform, Azure is preferable.
  • A collaborative, resilient team player with strong interpersonal skills taking initiative to drive things forward who is comfortable working independently, as well as in a team.
  • Pay an intense amount of attention to the quality of the product, data, and results you produce.
  • An excellent communicator who can partner with business experts and end-users who might not be well versed in IT, as well as with the technical experts of the engineering team.
