About the position

The IT Sales and Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in expanding the company's presence in the IT services sector. This position focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience in IT services sales to develop targeted strategies and manage the sales cycle effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and engage with potential clients within the IT sector to generate new business opportunities for IT services.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, driving revenue growth by meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including CIOs, IT Directors, and procurement teams.
  • Conduct thorough research on the IT industry to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and potential clients.
  • Prepare and deliver customized proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs that highlight the value of our IT services.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities related to the IT and technology services sector.
  • Work closely with technical teams, project managers, and leadership to ensure alignment between client needs and service delivery.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, track opportunities, and ensure timely follow-up.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, specifically within the IT services sector.
  • Familiarity with IT services, including managed services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and software development.
  • Strong understanding of the procurement processes within IT companies and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships with IT executives and decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Existing network or relationships within the IT sector, particularly with companies that prioritize supplier diversity.
  • Experience responding to RFPs and working with procurement teams in the technology industry.
  • Knowledge of additional certifications (e.g., HUBZone, 8(a)) or experience working with government IT contracts.
