About the position

The Scrum Master is responsible for effectively leading Agile teams and demonstrating expertise in a specific functional or technical domain or project delivery. This role encompasses multiple activities that may vary based on the assignment, including overseeing Agile project team delivery of varied project complexity. The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in facilitating, coaching, and influencing a self-organizing Agile team to become high-performing. This involves ensuring predictability, on-time delivery of business value, and maintaining high quality in project outcomes. In addition to team facilitation, the Scrum Master focuses on enhancing the team's technical acumen and Agile skills, which includes a strong understanding of SAFe Principles and a Lean-Agile mindset. The role also emphasizes the development of delivery skills and people leadership abilities, which are essential for influencing individual contributors within the team. The Scrum Master must create an environment that fosters collaboration, encourages innovation, and drives continuous improvement within the Agile framework. This position is pivotal in aligning the team’s efforts with the broader organizational goals and ensuring that the Agile processes are adhered to effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
• Coach and mentor team members in Agile practices and principles to enhance their performance.
• Remove impediments that hinder the team's progress and ensure a smooth workflow.
• Collaborate with product owners to ensure the backlog is well-defined and prioritized according to business value.
• Monitor and report on team performance metrics to stakeholders and management.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage team members to share feedback and ideas.
• Support the team in achieving their goals and objectives while maintaining a focus on quality and delivery.
• Promote a collaborative team environment that encourages open communication and transparency.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role within Agile project management.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SAFe principles.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to influence and motivate team members to achieve high performance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remove obstacles for the team.
• Experience in managing multiple projects with varying complexity and scope.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification as a Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).
• Experience with Agile project management tools such as Jira or Trello.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and practices.
• Experience in a technical domain related to the projects being managed.
