About the position

The IT Security Analyst II position at Visions is a full-time role focused on enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture. The analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents, ensuring the safety and integrity of the enterprise's information systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and analytical skills to identify threats and vulnerabilities, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with management and team members regarding security incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform event correlation using information gathered from various sources to gain situational awareness and assess the effectiveness of observed attacks.
  • Analyze identified malicious activity to determine exploited weaknesses, exploitation methods, and effects on systems and information.
  • Determine tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for intrusion sets.
  • Conduct cyber defense incident triage, assessing scope, urgency, and potential impact, and making recommendations for eradication and recovery.
  • Notify designated managers and CIRT team members of suspected cyber incidents, articulating the event's history, status, and potential impact.
  • Build, install, configure, and test dedicated cyber defense tools.
  • Perform system administration on specialized cyber defense tools, including configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration.
  • Monitor external data sources to maintain awareness of cyber defense threat conditions and assess security issues impacting the enterprise.
  • Provide cybersecurity recommendations to leadership based on significant threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide departmental back-up coverage as needed.
  • Respond effectively to changing ideas, responsibilities, expectations, trends, strategies, and other processes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development and modeling inclusive behaviors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience; 4-6 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Specialized knowledge in cybersecurity disciplines required and leadership experience expected.
  • Experience with incident response procedures.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Information Security certifications, as administered by GIAC or (ISC)2 preferred.
