About the position

The IT Security Analyst III position at Tokio Marine HCC is a full-time role based in Houston, TX, requiring the candidate to be onsite four days a week. This position is designed for an experienced and enthusiastic senior analyst who is passionate about problem-solving and eager to contribute to the cybersecurity posture of the organization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in mentoring junior analysts and assisting in the development and deployment of strategic planning initiatives that enhance the security framework of the company. The role emphasizes the importance of safeguarding the organization's assets and mitigating risks associated with information security. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for researching, designing, recommending, and implementing security monitoring solutions for information assets. They will identify and recommend corrective actions in response to security violations and perform security assessments to determine vulnerabilities in systems and applications. The analyst will also be tasked with developing and maintaining security policies, standards, and procedures to protect information assets, as well as analyzing and configuring security systems to meet established security architecture requirements. This role requires a thorough understanding of industry-accepted security architectures and the ability to communicate potential threats effectively to stakeholders. The IT Security Analyst III will also engage in strategic planning and contribute to the overall security strategy of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI. Responsibilities

  • Research, design, recommend, and implement security monitoring of information assets.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement corrective actions in response to security violations.
  • Perform security assessments to determine vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
  • Identify and communicate potential threats to information assets.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to protect information assets.
  • Research, develop, and document security architecture requirements.
  • Analyze and configure security systems to meet security architecture requirements.
  • Analyze, design, and configure authentication and access systems to meet security architecture requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a SOC environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry accepted security architectures.
  • Thorough knowledge of authentication and access systems.
  • General multi-platform information security knowledge in networks, Windows, Desktops, Servers, AS/400 and application systems including detail expertise in at least one.
  • Working knowledge of information security tools for intrusion monitoring, filtering, event management, compliance management and vulnerability management.
  • General knowledge of regulatory requirements (Sarbanes-Oxley, Payment Cards Industry (PCI), Health Information Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), along with US and European data privacy laws).
  • Experience in following system information security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills in mentoring, teaching, and explaining technical concepts to all stakeholders.
  • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (CS, Cybersecurity, etc.).
  • Certifications like Sec+, GIAC, or equivalent are highly desirable.
