The IT Security Analyst Professional at Children's Hospital Colorado plays a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity and access to enterprise systems, files, and data elements. This position is responsible for supporting the assessment, planning, design, enforcement, and auditing of security policies and procedures. The analyst will monitor, evaluate, maintain, and enforce systems and procedures to ensure the security of the hospital's information systems. This role is essential in identifying potential vulnerabilities within the systems and processes, and it requires a proactive approach to security management. In this position, the analyst will assist in conducting vulnerability assessments, identifying security infrastructure requirements, and developing and implementing security policies and procedures to prevent unauthorized access. The role also involves auditing existing security policies and procedures, performing security assessments, and reviewing networking initiatives for compliance with security standards. The analyst will respond to alerts from information security tools, investigate security incidents, and educate users on security requirements and procedures. The IT Security Analyst Professional will work under some supervision, collaborating with higher-level employees and management as needed. The position requires a strong understanding of security practices and the ability to make informed decisions regarding security measures. The analyst will also be responsible for preparing status reports on security matters and developing risk analysis scenarios and response procedures. This role is hybrid, with some onsite expectations, and includes on-call requirements to address security incidents as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and identify potential systems and process vulnerabilities.
  • Identify security infrastructure requirements.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and measures to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Audit security policies and procedures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform security assessments and review networking initiatives for compliance.
  • Evaluate and recommend security products for various platforms in the networking environment.
  • Respond to alerts from information security tools and investigate security incidents.
  • Educate and communicate security requirements, standards, and procedures to users and new employees.
  • Ensure user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures.
  • Recommend, plan, and implement security system enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and privacy laws and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Administer and monitor security profiles, review security violation reports, and investigate possible security exceptions.
  • Create, update, maintain, and document security controls.
  • Review firewall rule changes, monitor networks, and implement various network security measures.
  • Prepare status reports on security matters and develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required.
  • Combination of post-high school education, job-related certification, and/or related experience equivalent to seven (7) years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
