About the position

The IT Security Analyst will support the US Air Force by providing Functional Mission Analysis-Cyber assistance to protect critical information technology architecture and infrastructure essential for the warfighting mission. This role involves investigating network activities, developing risk mitigation strategies, and implementing cybersecurity measures to ensure mission success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Functional Mission Analysis-Cyber assistance to identify critical IT architecture and infrastructure.
  • Investigate network activities to determine essential Mission Relevant Terrain Cyber (MRT-C) support.
  • Develop strategies to identify, evaluate, and minimize risks in the cyberspace environment.
  • Create and implement strategies to merge and display relevant MRT-C based on essential systems and network services.
  • Identify and analyze trends to define MRT-C requirements and provide guidance.
  • Assist with FMA-C by identifying, mapping, and developing a defense plan for MRT-C.
  • Establish databases to monitor systems and design user boundaries for easier searches.
  • Utilize classified and unclassified networks to create support and information distribution plans.
  • Review and recommend new or revised policies and procedures for the staff.
  • Coordinate with local/base SMEs to resolve incidents and provide recommendations.
  • Define and perform vulnerability assessments leveraging threat analysis.
  • Conduct research and analysis across various data sets for indications and warnings.
  • Coordinate with cyber defense staff to validate network alerts.
  • Document and escalate incidents that may impact the environment.
  • Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
  • Analyze network alerts to determine possible causes.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline in cybersecurity or information technology.
  • CompTIA Security+ Level II Certification in accordance with DOD 8140 and AFMAN 17-1303.
  • CCSP or Cloud+ or CySA+ or GICSP certification.
  • Three years of experience in Functional Mission Analysis in Cyberspace processes and defense of Mission-Relevant Terrain.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DoD mission assurance concepts and principles.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications principles and methodologies.
