About the position

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an IT Security Analyst in the manufacturing industry, based in Parsippany, New Jersey, United States. In this role, you will be tasked with protecting our organization's information assets, monitoring our networks for potential security breaches, and developing security standards and best practices. As an IT Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring the integrity of our systems. You will be responsible for monitoring the organization's networks to identify potential security breaches and taking necessary action to mitigate risks. This includes conducting investigations and preparing detailed reports in case of security breaches, as well as keeping up with the latest IT security trends to enhance our organization's security measures. Your responsibilities will also involve assisting with customer inquiries related to our security protocols and ensuring the safety of our information systems assets from unauthorized access. You will regularly review logs and reports from all critical information systems to identify potential security incidents and respond to security incidents by devising strategies for handling future occurrences. Conducting regular audits to ensure that systems are secure and data is well protected will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you will assist in the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization, utilizing your knowledge of TCP/IP Protocol and SOC in your day-to-day responsibilities. Performing information security risk assessments on products, processes, vendors, and systems will also be part of your duties, considering both good security practices and the company's overall risk appetite.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safety of our information systems assets and protecting systems from unauthorized access
  • Regularly reviewing logs and reports from all critical information systems and identifying potential security incidents
  • Responding to security incidents and devising strategies for handling future incidents
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure that systems are secure and data is well protected
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization
  • Utilizing knowledge of TCP/IP Protocol and SOC in day-to-day responsibilities
  • Performing information security risk assessments on products, processes, vendors, and systems.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an IT security role
  • Security related certifications, CISSP desired
  • Strong understanding of security principles such as attack frameworks, threat landscapes, attacker, etc.
  • Proven experience as a Security Analyst or similar role
  • Knowledge of various security methodologies and processes, and technical security solutions (firewall and intrusion detection systems)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications
  • Familiarity with industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements related to information security and cloud computing
  • Past experience working in a SOC environment
  • Previous experience in Network monitoring platforms
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and experience with both hardware and software systems
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems, other OS's such as Linux is a plus
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools, Visio, Teams
  • CISSP, ISACA, CompTIA Security, Microsoft security a plus
  • Experience in ISO certification environment is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others in a positive and effective manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
