About the position

We are on the hunt for an IT Security Specialist to join our client's team, based in MEMPHIS, Tennessee! The successful candidate will join our team, contributing significantly to our operations by ensuring the safety and security of our IT systems. This role is essential to our operations, providing the necessary protection against potential cyber threats and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The IT Security Specialist will administer and maintain industry-leading security tools, conduct comprehensive security vulnerability assessments, and manage the efficient flow of security logs to the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system. This position requires a proactive approach to incident response, monitoring alarms, and preparing reports to ensure the integrity of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will also engage in policy reviews and maintain compliance, while continuously adapting to the latest network and security technologies to drive improvements and efficiencies within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain industry-leading security tools, including system management and rules development.
  • Conduct comprehensive security vulnerability assessments, including vulnerability scanning, compliance auditing, impact analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Manage and ensure the efficient flow of security logs from various security devices and appliances to the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system.
  • Configure advanced system views and reports within the SIEM to prioritize and monitor security events, analyze and mitigate incidents before they evolve.
  • Engage in the incident response lifecycle to mitigate, circumvent, and prevent attacker objectives; includes validation and authorship of use cases and functions leveraging event data, SIEM log analysis, and network data analysis tools.
  • Monitor alarms and audit logs to identify and remediate potential security threats.
  • Prepare weekly & monthly reports for distribution, review and potential follow-up actions.
  • Conduct advanced analysis of email headers and envelopes of emails and remediate associate-reported suspicious emails.
  • Address associate-reported encrypted issues and create and test new policies per company requirements.
  • Participate in the policy & procedures review process and maintain compliance for the company.
  • Develop and recommend changes within the networks and/or systems to ensure adherence to security policies IT change requests for configuration and network communication issues.
  • Learn and adapt to the latest network and security technologies, driving the continuous process improvement cycle, developing new efficiencies and automation improvements for the team.
  • Initiate, respond to, and resolve cybersecurity cases and escalations.
  • Draft security alert notifications for distribution.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable expertise in IT security, specifically in Access Control and Authentication
  • Proven experience with EO/IR systems and Firewall Technologies
  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC)
  • Knowledge and experience in AB Testing
  • Ability to conduct IT Auditing
  • Experience in Business Intelligence (BI)
  • Proficiency in Configuration Management
  • Strong understanding and experience in Cyber Security
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
