About the position

The IT Security Manager at the Hospital for Special Care is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of information security within the organization. This role involves configuring, deploying, and managing components that support the Security Operations Center, handling escalated security issues, and managing the organizational information security management program. The IT Security Manager will also plan and execute responses to information security incidents and report regularly to the Organizational Ethics & Corporate Compliance Steering Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of information security at the organization.
  • Configure, deploy, and manage components supporting the Security Operations Center.
  • Handle escalated security issues and provide advanced interpretation of security incidents.
  • Plan and execute responses to information security incidents.
  • Recommend changes to information systems operating procedures to enhance security.
  • Report regularly to the Organizational Ethics & Corporate Compliance Steering Committee on security management activities.
  • Develop tactical plans to implement the organization's strategic information security and privacy program objectives.
  • Liaise with various departments to assess and monitor performance of security functions.
  • Prepare and present reports on progress and challenges to leadership.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and standards for information security compliance.
  • Manage cybersecurity governance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Oversee the development of training and awareness strategies for security practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT or equivalent experience in an information security role.
  • Relevant information security and privacy certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and other regulatory requirements for healthcare.
  • Proven technical abilities with multiple host operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX).
  • Experience with Intrusion Detection, Forensics, and security technologies.
