About the position

The IT Security Operations Analyst is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of security monitoring systems at MetroPlus Health. This role involves identifying, investigating, and resolving security incidents and threats, as well as implementing new security solutions and maintaining security policies and procedures. The analyst will work closely with the Director of IT Security Operations to ensure the organization's security goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all security monitoring systems.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve security incidents and threats.
  • Implement new security solutions and maintain security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Participate in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture.
  • Research the latest information security trends and recommend enhancements to IT Security management.
  • Monitor security systems for efficient and effective operation and review logs and reports.
  • Investigate security breaches and participate in vulnerability assessments and security audits.
  • Provide on-call support for end users regarding security systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity or a related field, or an Associate's Degree with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Security Operations (or 7 years with an Associate's Degree).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify threats and understand workflows for investigating security events.
  • In-depth knowledge of systems, applications, and systems forensics.
  • Strong knowledge of threat intelligence and various coding languages.
  • Thorough understanding of computer-related security systems including firewalls, encryption, and authentication.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms and Advanced Threat Protection tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as ISC2, CompTIA, GIAC, or Microsoft are preferred but not required.
