About the position

The IT Security Project Coordinator at Doyon Government Group is a pivotal role designed for a highly motivated and organized individual who will assist in various administrative and project management tasks. This position is crucial for ensuring the efficient and timely completion of IT security projects while maintaining effective communication across teams. The coordinator will manage assigned IT security projects, coordinating project tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices is a key responsibility, along with tracking and reporting on project progress and addressing any issues or risks promptly. In addition to project management, the coordinator will assist in drafting and reviewing Statements of Work (SOW) for various projects, ensuring that all SOWs are comprehensive and accurately reflect project scope, timelines, and deliverables. This includes creating project forecasts and entering opportunities in the organization's PSA/CRM software, updating project pricing spreadsheets, and maintaining data integrity. The coordinator will work closely with the Director of Security and Cloud Architecture to ensure deadlines are met and assist in creating and updating SOW templates for consistency across all projects. The role also involves analyzing business processes to identify areas for improvement and enhance efficiencies across organizational teams. The coordinator will analyze data to derive insights that inform business decisions and strategies. Effective communication is essential, as the coordinator will maintain communication between client teams and internal departments, relaying necessary information to stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage IT security projects as assigned.
  • Coordinate project tasks, timelines, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Track and report on project progress, addressing any issues or risks promptly.
  • Provide administrative support and help coordinate project activities.
  • Interact with members of the Security Team and Engineering teams as needed to facilitate project and business needs.
  • Participate in project update meetings as required.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing Statements of Work for various projects.
  • Ensure that all SOWs are comprehensive and accurately reflect project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Create project forecast and enter opportunities in the organization's PSA/CRM software.
  • Assist in updating project pricing spreadsheets and maintaining accurate pricing.
  • Update pricing information as needed and ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in creating and updating statements of work templates as needed and ensuring consistency across all statement of work templates.
  • Work directly with the Director of Security and Cloud Architecture on a daily basis to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Analyze business processes and identify key areas of improvement and ways to enhance efficiencies across organizational teams.
  • Analyze data to derive insights that can inform business decisions and strategies.
  • Maintain effective communication between client teams and internal departments.
  • Relay necessary information to the Director of Security and Cloud Architecture and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaison with various client teams across the organization to better understand the security needs of our clients.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement initiatives across a diverse group of business and organizational teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years' experience doing similar work or 8 years equivalent experience doing similar work.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within IT.
  • Strong understanding of IT principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Productivity Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in using project management software such as Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with IT security principles and practices.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, including using Microsoft Excel.
