About the position

The IT Project Lead at Auto-Owners Insurance is responsible for managing the operational and tactical aspects of various company projects within the IT Division. This role involves coordinating team efforts, executing project plans, and ensuring that projects meet stakeholder objectives while adhering to project management methodologies and best practices. The position offers a blend of in-office and remote work flexibility, requiring occasional in-person attendance for meetings and training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of company projects.
  • Coordinate work for projects involving multiple team members.
  • Create and execute project work plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Help identify resources needed and work with leaders to assign individual tasks.
  • Prepare and review project-related documents prepared by the team before passing along to stakeholders.
  • Effectively apply project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Perform risk analysis and recommend actions to mitigate risk.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Ensure projects meet stakeholder objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or several years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exhibit good levels of organization, communication, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively working with individuals from different backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Proven performance delivering high-quality solutions on individual projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and possess good problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, facilitate team meetings, and handle project conflicts within and outside of the team.
  • Ability to understand complex concepts related to the project.
  • Inspire other team members to attain goals and pursue excellence.
