About the position

The IT Senior Project Manager (Hybrid) is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the success of complex enterprise-level IT projects and programs. This role involves managing budgets, schedules, and delivery in compliance with the PMO standards. The Senior Project Manager will lead Agile teams, facilitate continuous improvement, and ensure effective communication and collaboration across various stakeholders. The position requires a strong focus on Agile methodologies, particularly in managing the Agile Release Train and coaching teams in Lean-Agile practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a significant complex enterprise level program or multiple projects concurrently.
  • Advocate and support the policies, processes, and practices of the Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Develop and communicate plans to deliver major IT initiatives, including detailed project plans with tasks, interdependencies, and resource requirements.
  • Coach leaders, teams, and stakeholders in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
  • Responsible for Agile Release Train metric reporting and tracking execution of features and stories.
  • Serve as the IT point of contact for initiatives appointed by the business/user community.
  • Coordinate preparation of statements of work, estimation of costs, and negotiation of contracts.
  • Develop and oversee Agile scope management processes and customer acceptance throughout the delivery cycle.
  • Facilitate Agile Release Train ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums and Program Increment Planning.
  • Monitor budget and resource levels, advising on trends and preparing variance projections.
  • Ensure dependencies outside the team are understood and managed, along with risks and issues.
  • Lead the Project Team/Agile Release Train to identify and implement continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management.
  • Five (5+) years of large project management experience.
  • Five (5+) years of Agile delivery experience.
  • Three (3+) years of Release Train Engineer experience.
  • Prior experience as a ScrumMaster or Product Owner.
  • Possession of an Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant, Certified Agile Release Train Engineer, Certified Scrum Master).
  • PMP Certification is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with emergency response assignments.
  • Familiarity with IT operations and transition management.
