The Massachusetts Port Authority is seeking an IT Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic Information Technology (IT) Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our organization, which connects people and businesses to the global community by air, land, and sea. The IT Senior Project Manager will be responsible for meticulously scoping, designing, and delivering IT programs and projects on time and within budget. This position requires strong leadership skills to effectively manage consultants and project teams, guiding them through every phase of the project lifecycle. In this role, you will develop the scope, budget, and schedule for IT programs and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You will present and justify IT initiatives to Executive Staff and the Board of Directors, securing necessary approvals. Additionally, you will manage the Request for Proposal process and oversee consultant selection and contract execution. Providing technical guidance to project teams is essential, ensuring alignment with IT standards and systems across departments. Your keen eye for financial management will be crucial as you prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, optimizing resources and maintaining cost efficiency. Strong communication skills are necessary to facilitate seamless coordination across departments and agencies, fostering collaborative relationships and ensuring technical alignment across diverse IT domains.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scope, budget, and schedule for IT programs and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or computer science, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in IT project management, including planning, design, and implementation. Extensive non-IT project management experience considered.
  • Current and valid driver's license unrestricted, except for corrective lenses.
  • Demonstrated success in managing major multi-disciplinary projects and strong organizational and personnel management skills.
