About the position

As an IT Service Delivery Analyst for Manufacturing Global Applications at Alcon, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a liaison between end users and IT systems development teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately identified and translated into effective IT solutions. This involves conducting thorough requirements gathering, defining project scope and objectives, and making informed recommendations for improvements to business processes through the application of new technologies or the innovative use of existing systems. In this position, you will engage closely with various stakeholders, including Global Security, Global Facilities, and Health/Safety/Environment business units, as well as internal and external IT service providers. Your goal will be to ensure that global platforms are aligned with business needs, delivered on time, and compliant with Alcon's policies and standards. You will also be tasked with identifying opportunities for value extraction from these platforms and implementing methods to measure and analyze the value generated. A typical day in this role will involve stakeholder engagement, where you will liaise with key figures such as BTP IT Leadership, Global Application Business Owners, and external application vendors. You will work to foster positive relationships and drive a partnership model that supports global application governance. Additionally, you will be responsible for solution delivery, leveraging your experience in supporting global applications, conducting detailed process analysis, and ensuring adherence to methodologies such as Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall. Your ability to communicate complex application requirements in a clear and actionable manner will be essential in this role, as will your capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between business/end users and IT systems development teams.
  • Identify and analyze business needs, conducting requirements gathering and defining scope and objectives.
  • Make recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
  • Research business requirements and document relationships between application system components.
  • Translate business requirements into application requirements.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure clear communications and effective solutions.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to drive a partnership model and global application governance.
  • Support global applications with a focus on simplification and standardization.
  • Conceptualize and articulate solutions within existing frameworks and future business needs.
  • Utilize Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall methodologies, including collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in IT service delivery or application support.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Proven experience in supporting global applications with a focus on simplification and standardization.
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with Service NOW for application change control and incident management.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
