We are seeking an IT Service Delivery Assistant to join our Information Technology Support (ITS) group in our Princeton, NJ office. Under close supervision, this person will assist in the installation, migration, and support of workstations, printers, and other peripherals, and will assist in the support of the Windows operating environment as well as a variety of PC-based software packages. This person will be responsible for on-site technical support, remote support via the Mathematica Service Desk, and participating in departmental projects. This is an onsite position working daytime business hours, with occasional nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provisions and configures workstations, peripherals, and other hardware.
  • Assists staff with troubleshooting and Level 1 break/fix issues as needed.
  • Coordinates the upgrade and replacement of staff workstations directly with staff, and facilitates all aspects of the experience including file migration, shipping, retrieval of prior workstation, and disposition of retired assets.
  • Responds to and resolves problems with workstations in a timely manner as requested.
  • Installs PC-based software packages on staff computers, such as MS Office 365, SAS, and various business and data analytics packages.
  • Communicates with external vendors.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (a combination of equivalent education and work experience may be substituted).
  • 0-3 years of experience in administrative support and/or the installation and problem-resolution of PCs, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge in the installation and support of a variety of PC-based software packages, such as Microsoft Office, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support Windows operating environment, preferred.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple priorities under deadline pressure.
  • Ability to work independently for long periods of time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to address urgent issues and remain ‘on-call' if necessary, even outside of typical work hours.
  • Flexibility to work overtime on evenings and/or weekends, if needed.
