About the position

The IT Site Reliability Engineer (DevOps) position at System One is a critical role within the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, focusing on maintaining and enhancing the reliability and performance of corporate IT systems and infrastructure. This position is particularly suited for recent college graduates eager to launch their careers in site reliability engineering. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring IT systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal operational and performance levels. Candidates will be expected to participate in rotational on-call responsibilities, which is essential for maintaining system uptime and reliability. In this role, the engineer will analyze metrics and logs to assist in performance tuning, fault finding, and resolution. A significant part of the job involves contributing to the creation of sustainable systems and services through automation, process enhancement, and tool development. The engineer will also assist in building automation to streamline IT operations, thereby minimizing manual tasks and improving efficiency. Collaboration is key, as the engineer will work closely with application and infrastructure support engineers and operations teams to ensure seamless operations. Additionally, the engineer will engage in post-incident reviews to drive improvements and prevent recurrence of issues, ensuring that lessons learned are integrated into future practices. This position is on-site, and candidates must be local or willing to relocate within commuting distance of the office located at 2850 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Remote work is not an option, and only US citizens, Green Card holders, or EAD holders who can work directly on W2 payroll will be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor IT systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal operational and performance levels
  • Participate in rotational on-call responsibilities
  • Analyze metrics and logs to assist in performance tuning, fault finding, and resolution
  • Contribute to the creation of sustainable systems and services through automation, process enhancement, and tool development
  • Assist in building automation to streamline IT operations and minimize manual tasks
  • Work closely with application and infrastructure support engineers and operations teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, etc
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with server administration (Linux, Windows) and troubleshooting in Linux and Windows environments
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, various unix shells)
  • Understanding of network protocols and Network+ Certification
  • Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, TrueSight, Jira, and Confluence
