About the position

The IT Software Developer at Bright Horizons Family Solutions plays a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the company's largest applications. This position involves coding, developing, and providing general support for various projects, translating business and technical requirements into effective business systems. The developer will work closely with different teams and vendors to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data usefulness, contributing to the overall success of the IT department and the organization.

Responsibilities

• Designing system enhancements and business process changes to improve staff efficiency and data accuracy.
• Critically evaluating business requirements and providing alternative solutions.
• Collaborating with outside vendors in a shared development environment.
• Working with Application Support, QA, and development teams to address application issues and modifications.
• Identifying ways to improve system and process efficiency for key users and customer service.
• Acting as a change agent to ensure successful implementation of new systems and processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in .Net web application development.
• Experience with ASP.Net MVC framework is a plus.
• Proficient in writing clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with jQuery is a plus.
• Skilled in using Microsoft SQL Server and writing optimized SQL.
• Experience creating Stored Procedures and relational tables.
• Ability to maintain and improve existing codebases focusing on performance and scalability.
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or comparable experience required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with various user groups.
• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Silverlight is a plus.
