About the position

The Software Engineer II at Nelnet is responsible for designing, creating, maintaining, and improving software applications. This role involves coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The engineer will lead teams in developing and supporting customer payment solutions, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. The position requires minimal supervision and encourages servant leadership to guide teams in problem-solving and celebrating successes.

Responsibilities

• Researches, designs, implements and manages software applications based on user requirements.
• Writes, tests and implements efficient code.
• Maintains and develops existing applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Required proficiency in: C# .NET, Visual Studio, Angular.
• Strong technical competency.
• Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.
• Logical, analytical and creative approach to solving problems.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Good time management skills to plan and organize own work.
