About the position

The Marketing Systems Integrations squad is actively seeking a full-stack software engineer manager to join our agile team. As a vital member of this dynamic squad, you will play a crucial role in implementing technical solutions across the entire spectrum of BCG's marketing systems. Your responsibilities will encompass both internal and external facing audiences, contributing to the enhancement of personalized experiences through innovative machine learning algorithms and data-driven solutions. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive the team towards achieving its goals. In your primary role as a full stack software engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building user-friendly and intuitive applications and integrations. You will drive the adoption of best practices and engineering excellence within the team. Your development work will involve coding in object-oriented languages such as Java, query languages like SQL, and scripting languages including Python. You will analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context of the issues at hand. Additionally, you will respond to high-priority requests from senior business leaders and support requests from both external users and internal stakeholders. Continual improvement of ongoing reporting and analysis processes will be a key focus, with an emphasis on automating or simplifying self-service support. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will work closely with project stakeholders, other development teams, vendors, technical teams, and end users to comprehend business requirements and design solutions for a range of diverse problems. You will demonstrate technical proficiency with a strong comprehension of highly scalable web platforms, products, and services, while also identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout the development lifecycle. Continuous learning and actively seeking exposure to innovative technologies and methodologies will be encouraged, as will a history of adapting to evolving technical landscapes and staying ahead of industry trends. Problem-solving in ambiguous situations will be a critical skill, as you will apply strong analytical skills to tackle technical challenges where clear precedents may not exist. Responsibilities

• Design and build user-friendly and intuitive applications and integrations as a full stack software engineer.
• Drive the adoption of best practices and engineering excellence within the team.
• Develop code in object-oriented languages (Java), query languages (SQL), and scripting languages (Python).
• Analyze and solve problems at their root, understanding the broader context.
• Respond to high-priority requests from senior business leaders.
• Address support requests from external users and internal stakeholders.
• Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5+ years of programming experience with exposure to Back End languages such as Java, Python, and C#.
• Proficiency in applying design patterns and adhering to SOLID principles for scalable and maintainable applications.
• Hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and managing cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Practical knowledge of implementing cloud-based solutions to meet project-specific requirements.
• Ability to identify and mitigate insecure coding practices through knowledge of security vulnerabilities and secure coding principles.
• Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining efficient and secure APIs, focusing on RESTful principles and API best practices.
• Working understanding and hands-on experience with OAuth2.0 protocol.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying underlying causes of complex issues in software development and operations using various analytical techniques.
• Experience with version control using GitHub for collaborative development processes.
• Proficient in using Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence for project management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Front End languages, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Database management skills, including experience with designing, implementing, and optimizing databases.
• Experience implementing machine learning algorithms and embedding techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, or Word2Vec.
• Proficiency in using orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work in a global team setting.
• Familiarity with marketing platforms such as CRM systems, email marketing tools, content management systems, and customer data platforms.
