About the position

The IT Software Engineering Development Manager at The Rawlings Group is responsible for leading and managing cross-functional teams in executing software development projects. This role involves defining, implementing, and managing strategies for the successful creation of software solutions while collaborating closely with business operations to understand processes and challenges. The manager aims to deliver high-quality technology solutions with a focus on automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Software Engineering team(s) following Agile Principles, Scrum Framework, and Rawlings defined best practices.
  • Develop, manage and track to ensure team delivers high quality and timely development efforts.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust team plans to enable success.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business unit operations and collaborate in identification and prioritization of solutions.
  • Work with business leaders and subject matter experts to design enhanced processes.
  • Drive towards maximum Business Process Automation.
  • Build long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Use team retrospective learnings to improve both team quality and velocity.
  • Develop self-sufficient agile/scrum teams.
  • Identify skills gaps and build individual development plans for team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, technology, or related field.
  • Three to five years of management experience directing high performing teams in a technology environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding software development technologies, processes and tools, with experience.
  • Strong project management skills within Agile Principles and Scrum Framework with demonstrated change management leadership skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain solid working relationships across the organization, including the ability to collaborate, influence and gain commitment from multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation and executive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change.
