About the position

The Software QA Tester position at ARUP Laboratories involves testing both developed and commercial off-the-shelf software to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards. The role requires creating and executing functional and non-functional test cases, developing test plans, and maintaining records of test progress and results. The position operates under general supervision, allowing for moderate independent decision-making, and requires effective communication with product teams and management.

Responsibilities

• Test ARUP developed and commercial off-the-shelf software.
• Perform analysis to ensure software products achieve design specifications and quality standards.
• Create and execute customized functional and non-functional test cases.
• Develop, implement, and maintain test plans and procedures for system integration testing.
• Create defect reports and maintain records of test progress and test results.
• Communicate with product team members, management, and technical support on test efforts and support needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience as a software tester required.
• Experience with SQL, HTML, Microsoft Windows, Client Server architecture, Web testing, and Automation testing preferred.
• Experience with software development lifecycle techniques.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience with Agile methodology.
• Certification or professional training in computer studies preferred.
