About the position

The IT Specialist (APPSW/SYSANALYSIS) position within the Department of Defense is responsible for providing IT systems analysis and engineering support. The role involves overseeing the implementation and deployment of enterprise business capabilities across the DoD, managing teams of analysts and IT professionals, and advising on the planning, design, and maintenance of IT systems. The incumbent will also conduct analyses to identify suitable approaches and solutions for IT-related challenges, ensuring the effective operation of DoD business systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems analysis and engineering support for DoD-wide enterprise business capabilities.
• Direct the implementation of specific project segments and provide expert guidance on enterprise business capability development.
• Manage and advise teams of functional analysts and IT professionals in planning, designing, testing, training, and maintaining IT systems.
• Perform analyses to identify and select suitable approaches and solutions for IT-related challenges.
• Research and recommend state-of-the-art technologies to improve IT methods and solutions.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in IT systems management and analysis.
• Experience managing and advising teams in the planning, designing, testing, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Ability to develop and modify policies, plans, and objectives for IT programs and projects.
• Technical expertise in the design, configuration, and implementation of computer infrastructure and software engineering.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) solutions.
• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Knowledge of DoD business system needs and requirements.
