About The Position

The IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) at the CDC plays a crucial role in supporting public health outcomes by providing trusted technology services. This position involves collaborating with CDC customers to achieve business objectives, understanding and promoting OCIO's service catalog, and engaging in strategic planning to identify training needs. The specialist will establish partnerships with program leadership and stakeholders to enhance IT services and address challenges in business initiatives.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, including collaborating with organizations to develop and implement new technology and optimize business outcomes.
• Experience advising leadership on IT issues and providing recommendations.
• Experience managing IT projects and initiatives with minimal guidance.
• Demonstrated competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in public health IT services.
• Familiarity with data analytics and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with CDC customers to help them achieve business outcomes through trusted technology services provided by OCIO.
• Understand OCIO's service catalog and proactively articulate the value of the products and services.
• Engage frequently with customers in strategic planning sessions and identify training needs.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with the C/I/O - Program leadership team, key executives, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and suggest reviews of any significant business initiatives or projects that are challenged.
