About the position

The IT Specialist (INET) position at the Department of Homeland Security involves managing Point sites, user access, and permissions, as well as configuring Point platforms and resolving software performance issues. The role supports the enhancement and maintenance of existing SPO sites and requires a strong focus on customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with customization and optimization of Point Online sites, incorporating modern web techniques.
• Analyze system requirements and support the redefining and translating of requirements into application models.
• Administer the design, management, and improvement of the Point Portal, Blackboard instance, and other websites.
• Troubleshoot existing workflows configured using Point Designer (SPD) or Power Automate.
• Transition all existing SPD workflows into Power Automate or other appropriate solutions.
• Develop standard operating procedures, process flows, user guides, and other training material for office solutions.
• Provide individual and group training for multiple learning levels.
• Support the enhancement and maintenance of existing SPO sites, ensuring consistent look and feel.
• Monitor user feedback and identify follow-up activities/resolutions.
• Develop improvements/additions to increase usability and site adoption.

Requirements

• Experience managing Point sites, user access, and permissions.
• Experience configuring Point platforms and resolving software performance issues.
• IT-related experience demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
• One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Power Automate.
• Knowledge of modern web techniques.
