About the position

The IT Specialist (INFOSEC/DATAMGT) position at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific, involves managing and administering databases within the Pacific Region Network Operations Center. The role focuses on ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and reliability of IT systems, performing system audits, and resolving hardware and software issues. The specialist will also be responsible for optimizing database accessibility and implementing security measures.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage databases for the Pacific Region Network Operations Center (PRNOC).
• Conduct trend analysis and establish metrics for performance measurement.
• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems.
• Develop load balancing architectures to optimize database accessibility.
• Install software and hardware solutions to ensure system availability and reliability.
• Perform system audits to assess security parameters and performance of IA controls.
• Analyze and resolve hardware and software malfunctions.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Experience in IT security principles and policies.
• Demonstrated customer service skills in a technical support role.
• Strong oral communication skills for effective presentations and stakeholder collaboration.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve system anomalies.
• Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and server performance tuning.
• Experience in database backup and recovery processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Knowledge of developing and documenting IT policies and procedures.
