About the position
The IT Specialist (INFOSEC) serves as an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) responsible for overseeing a wide range of activities related to the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) program. This role focuses on managing resources, providing expert guidance on cybersecurity issues, and ensuring the implementation of security controls to protect information systems. The position is critical in aligning IT security priorities with organizational strategies and participating in risk assessments.
Responsibilities
- Acquire and manage resources for the ISSO program to support IT security goals.
- Provide expert review and guidance to ISSO staff on complex cybersecurity issues.
- Establish and maintain communication with system points of contacts and enterprise stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of security controls for OCC information systems.
- Lead and align IT security priorities with the OCC security strategy.
- Ensure ISSO participation in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and change management processes.
- Participate in information security risk assessments through the Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) process.
Requirements
- IT-related experience demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
- One year of specialized experience at the NB-V band level or GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, including performing IT risk assessments and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies.
