About the position

The IT Specialist (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) position at the Department of the Navy involves providing system administration, information assurance, cybersecurity compliance, and system architecture design for the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The role requires the implementation of Enterprise Architecture to support Command-wide IT and Cybersecurity tools, along with advising on cybersecurity vulnerabilities and managing system/server resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system administration and ensure cybersecurity compliance for IT programs.
  • Implement Enterprise Architecture in support of Command-wide IT and Cybersecurity tools.
  • Advise the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division on addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
  • Assess and advise the Command Information System Security Manager on risks and remediation priorities.
  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Enforce local network usage policies and procedures.
  • Manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
  • Apply project leadership skills to manage projects and group tasks effectively.
  • Communicate and document concepts through various technical documents and presentations.
  • Develop and brief technical solutions for technical architecture designs.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
