About the position

The IT Specialist (INFOSEC) position is responsible for delivering enterprise-level information systems security engineering and cybersecurity risk assessment support within the Defense Logistics Agency. This role involves providing expert guidance on security architecture, system hardening, and compliance with Department of Defense policies, while coordinating the overall success of the cybersecurity risk assessment program. The specialist will conduct assessments of systems and networks, apply analytical methods to identify risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver enterprise-level information systems security engineering and cybersecurity risk assessment support.
• Provide expert guidance on security architecture requirements, system hardening, risk mitigation, and compliance with DoD policies.
• Coordinate and communicate the overall success of the cybersecurity risk assessment program.
• Oversee technical evaluations of hardware, software, and components, conducting risk analyses and providing guidance on security architecture requirements.
• Conduct assessments of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data.
• Apply cybersecurity analytical methods to identify and prioritize risks and impacts, proposing mitigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security solutions into existing systems and applications.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in a related field.
• Experience providing guidance on security architecture requirements and cybersecurity practices.
• Experience coordinating cybersecurity risk assessment programs and aligning them with strategic planning and IT acquisition plans.
• Experience evaluating hardware, software, and components, and conducting technical risk assessments.
