About the position

The IT Specialist (INFOSEC) position within the Department of Defense focuses on ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and applications through effective Segregation of Duties (SoD) risk analysis. The role involves developing policies and procedures for enterprise-wide SoD, conducting information security risk assessments, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various audits. This position is critical in maintaining the security posture of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and requires a strong understanding of federal security requirements and risk management frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and applications through SoD risk analysis.
• Develop policies, procedures, job aids, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for enterprise-wide SoD.
• Conduct enterprise-level information security risk assessments and audit compliance for the agency.
• Serve as the FISMA Point of Contact and SME for various audits including the Financial Statement Audit and SoD Audit EOPR.
• Coordinate agency-wide information security audit readiness events and programs.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private sector.
• Experience in making security risk assessments by applying federal security requirements such as FISMA, NIST SP 800, and OMB guidelines.
• Ability to develop time-phased action plans and monitor project progression.
• Experience in conducting security and audit policy reviews to ensure the effectiveness of safeguards for information systems.
