Responsibilities

• Support the development of procedures, methods, and techniques for checkout, acceptance testing, and preparation of software, systems, and hardware.
• Advise management and technical specialists on critical Information Technology issues.
• Document and initiate responses to reported problems.
• Apply security patches and updates to servers and workstations in both test and production environments.
• Research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
• Operate multiple highly complex IT programs and systems that serve numerous customers.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug test and be subject to random testing.
• Must perform occasional sea duty.
• Must ensure continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are essential to the mission.

Nice-to-haves

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field.
• 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
