About the position

The IT Specialist (InfoSec) position involves leading and executing cybersecurity testing and evaluation for various systems, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and federal cybersecurity requirements. The role requires advanced knowledge in cybersecurity to guide the testing and validation of high-speed computing and communication systems, while also supporting the acquisition of authorizations to operate (ATO) for systems. The specialist will work independently, providing leadership and expert insight into cybersecurity assessments and evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute cybersecurity testing and evaluation for traditional and non-traditional systems.
  • Design, develop, and assess security testing procedures to evaluate system security postures.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge to guide the testing and validation of high-speed computing and communication systems.
  • Support the acquisition of authorizations to operate (ATO) for systems, ensuring adherence to required standards in accordance with DoD Risk Management Framework.
  • Demonstrate mastery of cybersecurity testing techniques, leading teams in securing information systems.
  • Work independently, providing leadership and expert insight into cybersecurity assessments, evaluations, and validation tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Ability to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must complete training and maintain credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 612 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.
