About the position

Serves as an IT Specialist (Network Services) for the Joint Activities located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. This is a term NTE 13 month vacancy. This is an obligated position.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert on the hardware and the software development, operating systems, and operating methods.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, program, maintain, and repair digital switching equipment, attendant consoles, power and relay racks, miscellaneous telephone, radio, fire alarms, intrusion alarms, and computer data circuits.
• Perform investigations, analyses, and takes corrective actions affecting interruptions and/or equipment failures, interface problems, and interference problems.
• Assist in the design of the system, network, circuit layouts for interconnection between routers and other transmission media.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
• The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
• This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less with travel to various locations approximately 10% of the time.
• Lifting up to 40lbs in the regular performance of duties.
• Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location.
• Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period.
• This position is Weather Essential.
