About the position

The IT Specialist (Policy and Planning) serves as the senior Information Technology Specialist and subject matter expert for all areas of information management and technology within a military treatment facility or hospital. This role involves strategic planning, portfolio management, workforce structuring, budget management, program audits, and information security, ensuring the effective integration of advanced knowledge management concepts and innovative technologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior Information Technology Specialist and subject matter expert for information management and technology.
• Plan and integrate advanced knowledge management concepts and projects requiring innovative technology in INTERNET/INTRANET systems.
• Provide technical guidance, advice, and assistance to senior hospital leaders, staff, and subordinate organizations.
• Manage multiple IT projects requiring review, analysis, implementation, or recommendation of IT equipment or services.
• Assess policy needs to govern IT activities.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience managing multiple IT projects.
• Experience applying advanced IT principles, concepts, methods, or standards applicable to complex data and telecommunications networks.
• Experience assessing policy needs to govern IT activities.
• Demonstrated competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.

Nice-to-haves

• CompTIA Security+ certification within six months of employment.
• Certification Level II in Information Assurance Technical (IAT-II) within six months of entrance on duty.
