About the position

The IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) position within the Department of Defense is responsible for administering and supporting Citrix/VDI technologies. This role serves as a principal advisor and senior staff specialist, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting for enterprise IT services. The specialist will manage Citrix Server Farms, ensure resource availability, and maintain compliance with security standards while supporting both internal and external users.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Citrix/VDI technologies as an IT expert.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for enterprise IT services.
• Manage Enterprise Citrix Server Farms on a virtual platform via VMware.
• Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of servers in a Citrix environment.
• Review performance metrics of VDI Farm infrastructure to ensure resource availability.
• Prepare reports and records of work accomplishments and project progress.
• Provide tier 3 level enterprise support for Citrix/VDI applications.
• Research and apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for compliance.
• Participate in planning and evaluating feasibility studies for Citrix/VDI products.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in IT Citrix/VDI environments.
• Experience in planning and project management for IT resources.
• Technical guidance and assistance in Citrix/VDI environments.
• Management of virtual server infrastructure including Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and NetScaler.
• Ability to analyze and improve organizational efficiency in IT methods.
