About the position

The IT Specialist (SysAdmin/Network) position within the Department of Defense involves managing and administering a variety of IT functions, including network operations, system installations, and ensuring compliance with information security policies. The role requires a strong focus on customer service, problem-solving, and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work with various hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of functions on network operations and provide advice and recommendations.
• Install new or modified hardware, firmware, operating systems, and applications software.
• Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
• Manage the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements.
• Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies in systems administration services.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.
• Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET security clearance.
• At least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private/public sector.
• Demonstrated competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
• Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in Cyber Security, Information Technology Management, Vulnerability Management, System Administration, and Account Administration.
