About the position

The IT Specialist (SysAdmin/Network) position at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command involves serving as the System/Network Administrator for Industrial Control Systems (ICS). The role focuses on the administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems that support the organization's Operational Technology / Information Technology (OT/IT) programs. The specialist will provide expert advice on IT/OT system administration and ensure compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Administer the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems in support of OT/IT programs.
• Provide advice and recommendations on IT/OT-system administration.
• Interpret and apply IT/OT policies, processes, and guidelines.
• Conduct systems and applications analysis/design and recommend resolutions to problems and issues.
• Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and operational problems.
• Perform the functions of a System Administrator, Network Administrator, and Information Systems Security Engineer.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Experience administering the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems in an OT/ICS environment.
• Experience managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
• Ability to resolve hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
• Experience managing the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements.
• Skill in troubleshooting and determining solutions for installed operating systems.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
