About the position

The IT Specialist (Sysadmin/Network) position at Womack Army Medical Center involves providing technical support and advice on telecommunications network and data/voice systems. The role is crucial for ensuring effective implementation and execution of existing policies and procedures related to IT systems within the medical community at Fort Liberty.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, modify, analyze, and restore electronic equipment used in voice and data circuits.
• Collaborate with Information Management Division personnel to develop policies and standards for automated communications systems support.
• Repair malfunctions in the outside plant network, including locating, replacing, and shipping various digital printed circuit boards for repair.
• Program the switch to add, delete, and modify voice and data circuits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, or equivalent experience.
• One year of specialized experience in system administration, troubleshooting, repair, and customer assistance in IT services.
• Possession of Security+ certification as required by DOD 8570.01-M.
• Ability to demonstrate competencies in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves
