About the position

The IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/OS) at Bonneville Power Administration is responsible for the design, planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the systems environment. This role involves developing policies and procedures to optimize the operating environment, providing expert advice on disaster recovery and security, and coordinating the installation and maintenance of hardware and software systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of processes for design and planning of systems environment.
• Develop policies, procedures, and strategies for system optimization and integration.
• Provide authoritative advice on disaster recovery, capacity planning, and operating systems security.
• Evaluate the impact of new applications on the operating environment.
• Plan and coordinate installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems.
• Conduct simulations to determine capacity requirements and recommend upgrades.
• Develop plans for integrating new server technology into existing architecture.
• Coordinate the installation and maintenance of enterprise management software.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Experience in IT-related roles, including paid or unpaid experience and/or IT certification.
• Proficiency in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving competencies at an advanced level.
