As an IT Specialist (SysAdmin) within the Department of Defense, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Sea Range Systems Division. Your primary responsibilities will include acting as a Networks and System Administrator, where you will leverage your knowledge of Cybersecurity to ensure the integrity and security of IT systems. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, scientists, and IT professionals to manage and support ongoing operations and projects effectively. This position requires you to assist in various aspects of project management, including the design, procurement, integration, and maintenance of both new and existing IT systems. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for managing software updates, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), patching, scanning, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Your expertise will be essential in performing system administrative tasks across a range of technologies, including legacy systems and modern platforms such as Windows-based systems, VMware suite, and in-house software applications. You will also be tasked with creating scripts, tools, and processes aimed at improving the efficiency, functionality, and capacity of both classified and unclassified enterprise environments. This position is critical to maintaining the operational readiness of IT systems within the Department of Defense, and you will be expected to uphold the highest standards of performance and security.
