The IT Specialist (Sysanalysis) position involves participating in systems requirement reviews, modifying existing financial management systems, and analyzing functional and technical requirements to meet mission objectives. The role requires collaboration with customer representatives and technical personnel to clarify requirements and resolve system or software failures. This position is essential for ensuring the effective operation of IT systems within the Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

Responsibilities

• Participates in systems requirement reviews and coordinates with customer/functional representatives and other technical personnel to clarify requirements.
• Modifies existing financial management system computer programs and writes new computer programs that implement required changes.
• Analyzes and resolves system or software failures.
• Analyzes functional and technical requirements of proposed or existing financial management systems to determine avenues of development or modification necessary to meet mission objectives.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship or National
• Suitable for Federal Employment
• Registered for Selective Service (if applicable)
• Experience in IT-related work demonstrating competencies such as Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level in the federal service, including designing specifications, coding, testing, and issue resolution of software and automated systems.
