About the position

The IT Specialist (Sysanalysis) position within the Department of the Navy involves developing systems concepts and supporting the capabilities phases of the systems development lifecycle. The role requires translating technology and environmental conditions into system and security designs, providing process analysis support for readiness assessments, and serving as a technical authority on new IT application developments and emerging technologies. The position is based in Suffolk, VA, and allows for part-time telework at management's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Develop systems concepts and work on the capabilities phases of the systems development lifecycle.
• Translate technology and environmental conditions into system and security designs and processes.
• Provide process analysis support for readiness assessments and identification of systemic cyber operational issues.
• Serve as technical authority on new IT application developments and emerging technologies.
• Evaluate and support documentation, validation, and authorization processes to ensure new IT systems meet IA requirements.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the development and implementation of information technology enterprise architectures.
• Knowledge in Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) discipline for managing IT systems.
• Experience in the development and implementation of data communications networks.
