About the position
The IT Specialist (Sysanalysis) position within the Department of Defense focuses on analyzing and refining systems requirements to enhance business solutions. The role involves conducting feasibility studies, preparing business cases for IT solutions, and developing implementation plans for software releases. The specialist will also enforce security principles and manage configuration changes, ensuring compliance with government standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and refine systems requirements.
- Perform analysis to define opportunities for new or improved business solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses, preparing business cases for IT solutions.
- Develop plans to implement, test, deploy, and train for each software/functionality release.
- Enforce configuration management, change control, and information assurance security principles.
- Design or conduct analytical studies or other research.
- Develop government Statements of Work (SOW), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), and Business Case Analysis (BCA) or Abbreviated Systems Decision Papers (ASDP).
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Must obtain and maintain credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area System Requirements Planner code 641 within 12 months of appointment.
- May require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS, including remote or isolated sites.
