About the position

The IT Specialist position is an entry-level role focused on troubleshooting hardware and software issues within a commercial printing, mailing, and warehousing company. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks while providing excellent customer service. This role does not offer remote work and requires a local candidate.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point-of-contact for troubleshooting hardware, software, and PC related problems.
• Log service tickets in Help Desk system and track time.
• Perform general administration duties such as creating Microsoft Active Directory users, groups, and setting file system permissions.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems related to desktop computers, scanners, and printers.
• Provide phone support to users running Windows 11 and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and customer-specific software.
• Install and configure new workstations.
• Install virus protection software on workstations and servers and remediate viruses and malware.
• Manage rollouts of desktops and laptops and follow up on setup procedures.

Requirements

• Experience installing Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Software including Outlook configuration.
• Experience with Mac OS.
• Experience with creating user accounts in an Active Directory environment.
• 2+ years in the information technology industry and/or related certification (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Effective communication (verbal and written).
• Detail-oriented.
