About the position

The IT Specialist position at the Department of Health and Human Services serves the Gre Plains Area Behavioral Health Department, providing technical support and training for various IT systems across multiple locations in South Dakota and Nebraska. The role involves maintaining the RPMS and Windows Operating Systems, managing equipment inventory, and ensuring compliance with IT security policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining and training on the RPMS and Windows Operating System.
• Manage the service units RPMS System and Windows Operating System.
• Maintain inventory and management of ADP equipment.
• Analyze equipment inventory to determine necessary levels of support.
• Determine pricing and methods for standardizing equipment purchases.
• Serve as local facility Information Security Officer.
• Conduct data analysis and report generation.
• Train end users on ADP security policy and responsibilities.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must pass a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation.
• Basic requirement includes a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, or related fields, or equivalent IT-related experience.
• Specialized experience for GS-11 level includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
