About the position

The IT Sr. Data Warehousing Programmer is responsible for the design, development, production support, enhancement, and maintenance of data warehouses. This role involves performing in-depth analysis of data models and business processes, implementing Business Intelligence solutions, and managing metadata repositories. The programmer will also create reports and dashboards for business analytics, troubleshoot application issues, and provide production support in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of data models and business processes.
  • Implement complete end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Assist with metadata repository management activities.
  • Prepare and implement data verification and testing methods for operational and performance reports.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and models for business analytics on web and mobile.
  • Perform administrative activities including installation, configuration, and security implementation of Cognos Analytics.
  • Develop custom SQL queries to gather and integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Troubleshoot application and data issues as they arise.
  • Provide production support, including on-call duties.
  • Work with Business Analysts to understand functional requirements.
  • Develop implementable technical designs.
  • Utilize knowledge of complete SDLC and various technologies to perform assigned duties.
  • Research and recommend alternative design solutions.
  • Analyze requirements and support the design and development of prototypes.
  • Work with users/business analysts to fine-tune the data warehouse.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering Management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related position such as Database Analyst, BI Developer, or Programmer Analyst-Database Analyst.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos Report Studio, Power Cubes, Framework Manager, Power BI, Tableau, Unix, PL/SQL, DataStage, XML, Python, Microsoft SQL Server, and DB2.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional BI tools or programming languages.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data systems.
