About the position

The IT Senior Project Manager at Abbott is responsible for leading large-scale application development and project management initiatives within the Manufacturing Execution Systems platforms. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and value realization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a large project delivery or functional area within an overall program as the owner of that area's performance and outcomes.
  • Interface with senior management on significant matters often requiring the coordination of activity across organization units.
  • Partner with senior product and program teams to plan and organize milestones.
  • Initiate or maintain schedules for projects and program milestones.
  • Establish priorities of project teams, selecting methods and techniques to lead a project to completion.
  • Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
  • Provide project management consultation and mentorship throughout various project phases and deliverables.
  • Resolve project issues by collaborating with product managers, customers, and partners.
  • Measure performance to ensure the project is progressing according to the original plan and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with manufacturing partners to align on vision, outcomes, goals, and roadmaps.
  • Draft project plans and estimate project effort and resource requirements using standard estimating techniques.
  • Represent the voice of the customer within the organization, understanding user experience and evolving needs.
  • Provide support for Project Capital spending requests including delivery estimates.
  • Supervise, motivate, and mentor cross-functional project teams.
  • Communicate project status through standard reports and participate in status update meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 7-10 years' experience in project management, software development or deployment, or manufacturing operations.
  • IT and Manufacturing/Engineering Project management experience in large or midsized multinational Health Care, Medical Device, or Consumer Goods organizations preferred.
  • Experience with GxP validation/Compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills and a passion for translating findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to design and optimize processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs and creatively approach solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Broad and deep knowledge in Supply Chain business processes and technologies with a focus in Manufacturing Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Siemens Opcenter, POMS, SAP, Infinity QS Proficient SPC, Rockwell Factory Talk, Emerson.
  • Commercial experience and/or healthcare experience considered a plus.
  • PMP, Prince2 certification is considered a plus.
