About the position

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an IT Sr Solutions Engineer to coordinate the implementation and integration of applications within our healthcare environment. This remote position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of information and data between applications and technical teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for following established plans and resolving issues to achieve successful implementations. In this consultative role, the IT Sr Solutions Engineer will utilize advanced problem-solving and analytical skills to implement, upgrade, and support complex application systems. The position requires serving as a primary technical liaison to end users, addressing new requirements and issues related to applications. The engineer will act as an internal consultant on application architecture initiatives, collaborating with leadership to develop application standardization and providing direction on application architecture. The role also involves supporting the standardization of documentation and integrating standards and practices across the organization. Staying informed about new developments and research related to application packages and healthcare IT trends is essential. The engineer will evaluate IT updates and revisions, coordinate testing, and oversee efforts with key vendors to understand future application product plans in conjunction with IT leadership. Additionally, the IT Sr Solutions Engineer will oversee complex configurations of applications based on user and vendor requirements, work closely with managers and project leaders to define and implement major software applications, and provide advanced technical support to resolve problems. This position requires collaboration with enterprise architecture teams to integrate application architecture into the broader enterprise architecture, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and vendor-specific methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation and integration of applications.
  • Serve as a primary technical liaison to end users for new requirements and issues related to applications.
  • Act as a general internal consultant on application architecture initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the development of application standardization.
  • Provide direction on application architecture.
  • Support standardization of documentation and integration of standards and practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments and research related to application packages and healthcare IT trends.
  • Evaluate IT updates and revisions; coordinate testing of updates and revisions.
  • Oversee efforts with key vendors to understand future application product plans in conjunction with IT leadership.
  • Oversee complex configuration of applications based on user and vendor requirements on major application environments.
  • Work closely with managers, project managers, and business partner leaders to define and develop or implement major software applications.
  • Help IT staff, business partners, and leadership understand potential application functionality, development approaches, possible enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Provide advanced level application technical support to resolve problems.
  • Work with enterprise architecture teams to integrate application architecture into enterprise architecture.
  • Stay connected with industry best practices and vendor-specific application methodologies.
  • Work closely with committees to align needs with application functionality.
  • Plan for the implementation of new application modules and enhancements with Application Analysts.
  • Plan for maintenance releases and problem resolution with Application Analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • 5+ years of experience performing essential job responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of systems and application development in Health Care.
  • 2 or more relevant technical/professional security certifications preferred.
