About the position

The Senior Technical Analyst at CommonSpirit Health plays a crucial role in providing application technology expertise and direction for the support, development, and implementation of complex enterprise-wide programs and projects. This position is integral to resolving highly complex problems and may involve leading cross-functional teams to troubleshoot hardware, software, and system issues. The Senior Technical Analyst is expected to deliver or lead the design, development, support, and maintenance of functional applications, ensuring that information support processes are effectively managed. This role also requires taking on-call responsibilities regularly, which involves being available to address urgent technical issues as they arise. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Technical Analyst will lead discussions on technical analysis, deliver supporting artifacts, and assist in conducting review sessions for necessary approvals. The position requires the development and maintenance of knowledge management artifacts, ensuring a smooth transition to operations following the delivery of new solutions or upgrades. The analyst will also be involved in product release management functions, which include developing and performing test plans, facilitating end-user acceptance testing, and creating application validation scripts for ongoing operations. The role demands participation in estimating and resource planning for complex solutions, providing guidance and training to team members and operational support teams, and leading continuous process improvement activities aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Senior Technical Analyst will be involved in developing service level agreements (SLAs) and monitoring deviations, escalating issues to leadership as necessary. Overall, this position is designed for a highly skilled individual who can navigate the complexities of healthcare IT and contribute to the organization's mission of building healthy communities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver or lead the design, development, support, maintenance, and deployment of functional applications and information support processes.
  • Take on-call responsibilities on a regular basis.
  • Lead the resolution of highly complex issues or requests requiring technical expertise.
  • Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, and critical thinking to solve medium and high complexity needs.
  • Follow appropriate change control processes at all times.
  • Complete tasks and associated documentation within committed timeframes and communicate effectively across teams and management levels.
  • Lead technical analysis discussions and assist with conducting review sessions for approvals.
  • Develop, maintain, and review knowledge management artifacts and lead transitions to operations functions post-implementation.
  • Receive necessary information and training during the implementation of new solutions, upgrades, and fixes.
  • Lead product release management functions, including developing and performing test plans and facilitating end-user acceptance testing.
  • Participate in estimating and resource planning for complex or enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Provide guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to team members and operational support teams.
  • Lead continuous process improvement activities to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Involved in the development of service level agreements (SLAs) and monitor deviations, escalating issues to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • 10+ years' experience working in IT as an Application Systems Analyst or Technical Analyst role.
  • Epic Ambulatory or MyChart certification.
  • Excellent writing/documentation and communication skills.
  • Fast learner, quality-conscious, and committed to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Experience working with project life cycle or project management methodologies.
  • 6 or more years' experience with application support in a hospital or medical-related industry.
  • Expert level understanding of leading business and technology partners through deployment and implementation life cycles.
  • Advanced understanding of technology projects and concepts as they relate to high-level business objectives.
